Bugatti valve operation by pull-rod and push rod, probably late 1903 or 1904. In 1904, in partnership with Emil Mathis, Ettore Bugatti introduced the ‘Hermes’ car, his Type 6 which had overhead Inlet valves, as ‘A’ like the Types 2-5, but side exhaust valves, as ‘E’.
